Freedom Festival
Thousands of children and their parents celebrated freedom on May 7, 1999 at UVSC. The Freedom's Light Student Showcase was one of the early parts of this year's America's freedom Festival at Provo.The evening was a gathering of students singing, dancing and celebrating patriotism. The choir of children chosen from 16 elementary schools included 1,700 students. Freedom Team students who sang and danced on the main floor included 250 students. Orchard Elementary sent a group of 150 students to dance their way through the music of Scotland, Mexico, Israel and Hawaii, with costumes to match. In addition the choir sang patriotic songs such as "The Star Spangled Banner" and "Hope of America."
